Harvest Festival at Riddings donated its produce to The Forge

This is a community support unit for vulnerable people in Scunthorpe.

Council spokesman John Briggs said: "It provides a vital service, helping many vulnerable people."

"The Forge provides food, warmth and the opportunity to be among other people."

Scunthorpe has no permanent overnight shelter for the homeless.

The Forge's manager said staff would be offering warmth and friendship in an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance.

The tinned food and packets and dried food willl be used to feed the homeless in Scunthorpe and make a little difference in their lives.

Somebody's hunger will be eased by our gifts.
